If you sent in a paper registration form please allow at least 7 business days for your registration to be completed by our staff. All registrations (online and offline) will receive a confirmation email. If you have not received any email confirmation form us please contact us at email@example.com. Packet pickup will be available at Ala Moana Beach Park – Magic Island on the Friday, 3:00p-6:00p and Saturday, 10:30a-5:00p, before race day. There is NO packet pickup on race day. You must attend one of the Race Briefings or read the briefing on-line BEFORE you pick-up your packet. Race packets will not be mailed. You must have a valid photo I.D. and submit the signed affidavit and USAT waiver.
If you cannot come in person to pick up your race packet you can ask a friend or family member to pick up your packet. However, the person picking up your packet must provide a copy of your ID and submit the signed race briefing affidavit and signed waiver with your signature on it. The same goes for parents of kids ages 7-10 and Relay Teams. One member from each team will be allowed to pickup the Team Packet. On race morning, the rest of the team members must be Body Stamped. If you are an annual USA Triathlon member, you will be required to show your current membership card.
There is no packet pick-up on race day!
You must be at least 7 years of age on race day in order to participate in the Age Group Category of the Honolulu Triathlon International Festival of Sports. Remember that according to USA Triathlon you are racing in this event as of your age on 12/31/Race Year. Not your age on race day.
Yes! Besides overall awards, we will have age group awards (top 3 for each age group, Female and Male). REMEMBER, according to USAT rules you are racing in this event as of your age on 12/31/Race Year. Not your age on race day. For example: If you are 39 on race day, but your DOB is in Nov. then you will be placed in the 40-44 age group.

There is no Military Division; however, members of the the Armed Forces receive a discount on their entry.
REFUNDS: The Honolulu Triathlon has a No Refund Policy. The race organization reserves the right, in the event of an emergency or local or national disaster or act of god to cancel the race or to change the date/time/location of the event.
ROLLOVERS: Rollovers to the next year are not permitted. In case you cannot participate, please inform us by January 31th 2019 and we will issue a $50 credit, valid for next year’s race. Rollover requests received after January 31th will not be considered.
CHANGES: Category changes can also be requested during packet pick-up. A change fee will apply. Transferring your registration to a different person is not permitted.
The bike check-in is in the transition area on the parking lot of Ala Moana Beach Park/Magic Island. The transition area opens at 4 a.m. on race day. It closes at 5:30 a.m. Thereafter, no more bikes are allowed to be checked in. Be sure to get there on time! The transition area is a crowded place and only athletes are allowed inside. Please do not bring more than one bag! Make sure you have plugs in your handle bars. The bike racks will be numbered with your Bib number. Only emergency bike support will be provided inside the transition area. Please make sure your bike is race ready.
There is a limited number of parking stalls available at Ala Moana Beach Park/Magic Island parking lot. We will hand out parking passes on first-come-first-served basis (no exceptions) during the first hour of packet pick-up on Friday, May 12th, 2017 only.
Alternative paid street parking is available at the harbor next to Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon. Approx. 20min walk from Ala Moana Beach Park.
The Honolulu Triathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. Every participant must either have a valid annual USAT membership or purchase a one-day membership for this race. Adults pay $15 and children under 17 pay $10 for the one-day membership. If you sign up online you can pay the membership fee along with your entry fee. For offline applications the form can be downloaded here.
Every participant is required to either attend the race briefing on Fri or Sat before the race OR read the online race briefing, which will be available a week before race day. Upon picking up your race packet you will need to submit a signed affidavit, stating that you understand the race briefing. Every participant will get an email reminder once the affidavit is available online.
Wetsuits: Each age group participant shall be permitted to wear a wetsuit without penalty in any event sanctioned by USA Triathlon up to and including a water temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wetsuit at their own discretion, provided, however that participants who wears a wetsuit within such temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Above 84 degrees, wetsuits are prohibited.
Water temperature will be determined on race day morning.
There is only a CUT-OFF for the Olympic Distance:
You have to reach the entrance to Lagoon Drive by 8AM. This gives you about 2 hrs to complete the swim and roughly half of the bike.
